The PCPS Playground Enhancement Committee - based on recommendations from the community - has announced that on May 29th, a massive playground will be built at Pleasant Corners Public School in honour of local soldier, Cpl. Patrick Lormand of Chute-a- Blondeau , Ontario , who was killed in action in Afghanistan last September.
The new playground honouring Cpl. Lormand will include numerous play structures, an outdoor classroom, a shade structure(s), gardens with paths, trees and shrubs planted by the community.
By dedicating the playground to a local fallen soldier, Corporal Patrick Lormand, a person who made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan; the area will also serve as a reminder to all who that enjoy it, that freedom does sometimes come at a price. It will also ensure that his life & sacrifice will be honoured & remembered for generations to come.
